 Positive Mental Attitude :
Positive mental attitude is the right
mental attitude in all circumstances. Success attracts more success
while failure attracts more failure.

Self-Discipline :
Self-discipline begins with the mastery of thought.
If you do not control your thoughts, you cannot control your needs.
Self-discipline calls for a balancing of the emotions of your heart with
the reasoning faculty of your head.

Every King was once a crying baby
and every great building was once a map.
It?s no important where u r TODAY, BUT

N number of members in my family
Don’t get bored; article is not on Population explosion or family planning. Article is for
all, my family members (have never counted how much). Uniqueness about my family
is that it has no bar of caste, community, creed, color, qualification, gender
blah..blah..blah……
Ayam nijah parovati, ganana laghu chetsam,
Udar charitanam tu , Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam.
Meaning – This is mine, that is yours, is thinking of narrow-minded people. For broadminded
people whole world is family.
These shlokas and learnings are just being crammed by children as part of academic
curriculum of standard V, who quite often forget it till they actively participate in
society. These are limited to books in academics.
Generally, I am compelled by me within, to write, when I am in grief / pain about
something. For understanding pain kindly refer news and editorials in newspaper eg.
Indian’s attacked in Australia; Pakistani players not offered to play IPL, enacting law for
taxi drivers in Mumbai for language chauvinism and even caste groupism and favor
deeply found in our society. One fellow of a caste favors to his fellow caste mate.
Reason, I have not understood yet. Apparently, same caste is reason. But, thinking in
deep person belonging to other caste is human and fellow of same caste is also
human. Point to pander is that whether caste signifies quality of person being favored?
Answer is but obvious – No. but even this easy answer is not digestive to all of us.
Just give me a minute, close your eyes for a minute and imagine of world without
territories and think of inter cultural and international movement and marriages, inter
cultural exchange of goods and values. Everything free flow. Really very hard to
imagine. Why can’t we change our vision and treat every stranger or fellow on the
litmus of human nature, rather than on caste, creed and color etc.
Treating every person as family member could even remove harsh competitiveness,
envy and jealous? Treating other’s success as ours and other’s failure as ours. Don’t feel
surprised on neighbor buying new car. Be happy, as being so called family member it
could be used for us also when needed, if we create intimacy and bonding like family
members.
Pardravyeshu loshtvat, pardareshu matravat,
Yeh pashyati , sah panditah.
Meaning- Who can envision other’s money as dust, and other’s wife as mother, he is the
wisest.
These shlokas give life learnings, but what is needed is “Walk the Talk.”i.e. implement
above in our life.
So, newborn, welcome to our new family. Let’s go from me to we.

                I encountered myself
Yesterday night in my loneliness I invited Mr. Myself on tea. He came, had tea and he
interviewed me.
Pardon me one minute, it is not some satire or humor. I am damn serious, man! After all
million Dollar question asked by Mr. Myself was “What do I want?”
Question shaked me from within, as I had never ever gave it serious thought.
I was compelled to think deeply. Mr. Myself made me comfortable and said me to take
my time to answer, as only I and Myself were in this interview( & I+ Myself = We).
After much thinking I replied, “I want to do everything, except few.”
“What few you do not want to do?” asked Myself.
These few are I don’t want to taste drugs, alcohol, smoke or cheat my family, blah de
blah…
Question- What You want, then?
I replied, I want to love somebody enchanting & be loved, to work, to succeed , have
degrees & excel at academics, sports , to draw ,sketch, to be artist, to sing , to dance,
to twirl ,to laugh & make others laugh, to earn and to spent money for family, to donate
with both hands , also to exercise austerity at same time, to write, to read a lot & be
read , to farm, to till, sow, & reap, to exert, to work out for shape, to rest, to dream, to
travel ,meditate, to follow somebody and be followed , to act , to swim…………& so on.
List is endless, with no full stop.
I cried and said grim reality- Alas, I have only one life.
Myself told , that’s why Mamma used to say “Be focused” , all the time.
Myself consoled me. Myself said that approach should be problem solving , not
mourning. Let’s think of solution.
Solution-Become “Forrest Gump” , a character in Hollywood movie “Forrest Gump” who
did everything in life that he wanted to i.e. joined army, played Rugby, Ping Pong,
fished etc. Let me suggest, it is a MUST WATCH MOVIE.
I mean to say segmentise whole life. Play different roles.
Question- What if, people will call freak or goof?
Solution- Who cares? We are creative people. Mind well, “ Social opposition, laugh and
criticism are constraint for creative people. But creative people do not care for them.
One need not be acknowledged and recognized by others, but should have great self
respect for himself. & I do have that sense. I love myself and thank God to enable me to
think in this way. & infinite thanks to Thy, for infinite things. (Again list is endless) You
know what? We are all blessed by God in one way or other.
Question- What about family expectation? Being stakeholders and investors parents &
family also want to have control over your life & do not want you to take these new &
risky proposition. Mr. Myself gave me following poem to read-
Your children are not yours,
they are the sons & daughters of life s’ longing for itself.
They come through you, but not from you
& though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love, but not your thoughts,
for they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies, but not their souls,
for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
But, let me remind, question was how to satisfy parents & family?
Solution- Do the due. Play your part and after making them satisfy take exit and
prepare for next part. Easier said, than done. Though, satisfaction as the matter of fact,
could never be delivered, but you cannot just escape saying, “It’s my life, do not
interfere”. But, yeah, supporting, showing and making them realize that you care for
them could be remedy.
Question- What about harsh truth, “Parent’s debt could never be repaid.”
Solution – Why try to repay debt which cannot be repaid fully. Tell parents to transfer it
to BAD DEBT A/c.
Myself scolded and said Selfish you! its wrong solution. You could hurt them. Just try. Try
to repay. Blend, monetary repayment with emotional support and understanding could
also play great role.
After all, before leaving Mr. Myself gave following suggestion-
Do not have singular goal, be multi-dimensional. As everything in the world can be
expertised. Even Impossible says I M Possible. Personally speaking Mr. Myself within me
do not favor , “Jack of all traits & master of none.” As per our Shastras, human has
infinite potential.
Live life as you want, not as per other’s parameters.

25th HOUR
Sounds funny , no?? Let’s get started with a poem. Here we go-
Sare din padte Aakhbar,
Phir bita ek aur Itvaar.
Gamloon main pada nahi pani,
Padi nahi gayi Sant-vani.
Takoon se jhadi nahi gard,
Khidki darwaje bepard.
Munne ka tutlata geet,
Ansuna gaya bilkul beet.
Din nikla bilkul bekar,
Sare din padte Aakhbar,
Phir bita ek aur Itvaar.
Poem is not mine, nor do I remember poet’s name.
Busy schedule , workaholic demand of profession, no time for recreation and
mechanized life are general terms , often heard in work groups, especially private
sector.
Let us just assume, salary and perks remaining constant we get more time for ourselves
or our work timing are being reduced. Imagination might appear fascinating. But, I
object. Going on further, let us assume that we are given whole day free for ourselves,
again salary and perks remaining constant.
Again nice to imagine, huh?
But, one minute don’t you find some pleasure in deriving recreative time from busy
schedule. That’s what I call 25th hour. Don’t you think that idle time will make you
dumb? Though, matter is subjective and depends on how you use your idle time. We all
wait for last minute, what they call 11th hour. As it is our natural tendency-
Bhaya binu preet, na hot Gopala.
Catch line is that time could be derived, no matter how much busy you are. For eg.,
Newspapers could be read during lunch hours, songs could be heard while working.
Jokes could be cracked while working. Even short nap (remember short) could be
taken with alarms on. But need is for frank and free work culture. Sadly, it is hard to find.
Than start yourself as Akela aadmi sabse tej chal sakta hai, as he has to wait for
nobody. That means, this culture can be made by one man army i. e. I am not me, I
am we sort of attitude is required. This frankness of work culture + busyness of work can
create miracles. Think of man, so much engrossed in work that he forgets to drink water
or even skips lunch. But this also gives pleasure as we were so devoted in work.
Personally speaking, I find great or innovative ideas (at least I think so), during my busy
days. Best of my thinking or senses comes either when I am too busy (studying
academics or working ) and to break monotony I go for 10 minutes walk or even during
time when I go to loo. During this time we can dream with eyes open. When study was
my first priorty, my mind wandered and I daydreamed about playing, earning, singing,
drawing, travelling and other future planning. After exams got over, these whims and
fancies faded away. You might have also experienced same instances.
Busyness does not imply that once should assume organization’s work as its personal
work or work of do or die. As nothing is important then ourselves (as we are humans).
“Organizations is made by humans, not humans are made by organization” - mind it.
One should also care for himself. What I mean to say is that though work burden could
be there, but one should be able to deal with it without getting stressed, provided some
autonomy is solicited from boss. Either boss should give it, else one must learn to derive it
itself. Reminds me,
Jahan sach na chale ,vahan jhooth sahi,
Jahan hak na mile, vahan loot sahi.
Busyness also gives happiness, in a way, like when you get numb after whole day
working than at least there is sense of self fulfillment that you tried your best. Though
sour truth is that boss is never satisfied. But creativity tends to spark in between this
busyness. One more solution, would be if boss is non-cooperative, make your own
parameters and benchmarks for your work and evaluation, being least concerned
about what your boss wants. Easier said, than done. Setup your own priority list. Pet
yourself if you meet your own parameters. Self appraisal is best motivator.
Life is balancing act. So, have time for everything i.e. work, entertainment, love, friends
and family etc. Balance between them. Integrate fun, entertainment, social talk, music,
reading in work itself. (Caution – Subordinates! be loyal to work also.) Otherwise , what’s
difference between us and machines. After all, we all are blessed with only one life,
assuming we forget about past life, if we reincarnate. So, do everything you want to,
today itself i.e. in this life only. Life would seem short. Good thing, as it will create sense
of urgency in everything we do. Make schedule, break schedule. “Rules are meant to
be broken sometimes ” – well said.
As Mr. Chetan bhagat has said, “We are not programmed devices, but human beings. So
be sincere, not serious.” I would like to state that above work burden could be
converted in happy and hay making exercise. Sound likes, for one child spending day
in school is burdensome, but for other it is fun. “If you love your work, you are on
permanent holiday.”So this burden of work / busyness is boon rather than curse. It could
act as catalyst to spark innovation and creativity.
Last but not least, I would like to remind that busyness is also essential requisite for
success and self satisfaction. It may sound contradictory but essential to state here
that,” Work in itself is not everything in life”
Above all reminds me one quote “ Love what you work, Than work what you love”.
Kindly pay attention to following few lines of Rudyard Kipling’s poem, “If”
“ If you can fill one minute,
With 60 seconds of distance run,
Yours is the earth and everything in it,
And which is more you will be man my son”.
